A Premier League champion posed for pictures at a padel court in Garston on a leisurely visit last month.
Eberechi Eze, 28, of Arsenal FC, made the journey over to the courts at Woodside Leisure Centre, Horseshoe Lane on September 9.
The England international’s presence was embraced by Padelstars Watford, as they shared an eager Instagram post of the winger and one of their padel coaches with the caption “A celebrity face decided to visit us recently…”.
The Garston venue opened on June 1 with three covered and two floodlit courts built to international standards.
Padel is a fast-paced racket sport played on a walled court, where players can bounce the ball off barriers to keep rallies alive, much like squash in that sense, but on a full court with a net.
Surrounding areas in Watford and Bushey are among the areas seeing the biggest wave in new padel courts as the sport’s popularity mounts in the country.
Eze currently lives around 45 minutes from Arsenal’s training ground in London Colney, according to The Sun.
