Thousands of Croxley residents came along to celebrate the annual summer fair which was blessed with “lots of sunshine and happy, smiley faces.” The Croxley Revels took place on Saturday, June 21 and is described as one of the biggest free summer events in the area. Barry Grant, Chairman of the organising committee said: “It was one of the best Revels year so far, the weather really helped, it was like a typical British summer fair weather. The day saw many performances from Morris Dancers Phoenix Morris, the local taekwondo group, maypole dancing from the local Brownies and the Croxley School of dance. There were more than 100 local, charity and commercial stalls at the Revels, including the My News team who were there talking to local residents and businesses. Barry told My Croxley News that it was enjoyable announcing the trophy winners; each of the trophies is attached to various pieces of Croxley’s history. Harvey Road School took the Revels Challenge cup for winner the Pushball competition for the third year in a row. The Pushball competition is the highlight of the day for most. Barry told My Croxley News that the next Revels will be Saturday, June 20 2015 and plans are already afoot. Read more in the next issue of My Croxley News out this month.
