NEW HOMES: Plans for 61 new homes on Berkhamsted green belt approved after third attempt

Published on: 21st January 2025   |   By: Owen Barnard   |   Category: Uncategorized

Plans to build 61 houses on green belt land near Berkhamsted have been approved by Dacorum Borough Council at the third time of asking, subject to a number of conditions.

The original scheme to build 86 houses at Haresfoot Farm, which is just south of Berkhamsted, was refused in May.

A second proposal for 59 homes and a community hub was later changed by developer Haresfoot Ltd to remove the hub and add two extra affordable homes.

The plan for 61 homes was approved subject to conditions at a Development Management Committee meeting on Thursday, December 12.

The conditions include temporary drainage development measures and a surface water management plan for the site being approved by the local planning authority. Other conditions are in regards to approved materials, landscaping, and environmental management plans.

The approval is also subject to a site investigation of pollutants or contamination on site and a risk assessment.
