A Hemel Hempstead based charity recently launched a new project which provides breakfast to children in the town.
The Youth Booth launched The Breakfast Service, which is a service available at the Grovehill Community Centre, in between 7.30 and 8.30 from Monday to Friday.
Founder Toni McManus, speaking to HemelNews said the initiative has been well received in the community.
Her message to the residents is to keep showing support.
She said: “When you start a new project like this one, you tend to get more attention at the beginning, once it goes quiet, which is starting to now, that’s where we are going to need the most help, we need ongoing support not just one off.
“The Youth Booth is here to help the community we are not looking for profit, we just want to be able to cover our overheads and ensure everybody gets what they need.
“We will always support the community, whoever it is, family, children on their own, adults that aren’t at work. We will do our very best to make sure everyone has what they need.”
Many members of the community have also shown support to the charity.
One example is Khana Cookery, an authentic Punjabi catering service, who have created a set menu and are donating 10 per cent to the charity from each order.
Facebook community group, Hemel Hempstead Community & Conversation (HHCC) are also donating to the Youth Booth as part of HHCC’s Christmas charity, if you would like to donate visit gofundme.com/hhcc-supporting-the-youth-booth
