Plans are progressing for a new banking hub in Abbots Langley.
As reported in the July edition of ABBOTSnews, Gagan Mohindra, MP for South West Hertfordshire, is supporting the campaign for the new hub in the village’s Post Office.
The proposed hub would provide access to cash services, with staff available to help on a set day of the week.
The MP, together with Abbots Langley and Bedmond councillors Ian Campbell and Vicky Edwards, have now submitted an ‘expression of interest’.
Mr Mohindra MP and cllrs Campbell and Edwards met with staff from the Link Scheme, which aims to build an ATM network across the country, and Lloyds Bank in Parliament to discuss the need for a hub.
Cllr Edwards said: “The next step is arranging on-site meetings in Abbots Langley with the Link Scheme to show the need for access to cash and other services and show how key businesses would return to the High Street if a hub opened.”
