The Golden Boys beat Norwich 2-0 yesterday, putting them in the top half of the league table. Odion Ighalo won the 30th-minute penalty which allowed Troy Deeney to score, as the Hornets took a one-goal lead into the break. The Hornet captain teed up Ighalo, who made no mistake from close-range to score and secure victory at The Vic. Igalo, who scored his ninth goal of the season, said in an interview: “I think it was one of our best games, after the West Ham game, so we want to keep pushing and see how far we are going to go at the end of the season.” Heurelho Gomes was okay to start in goal despite being stretchered off at Aston Villa last weekend. There were however but two changes to the Hornets’ line-up, as Ikechi Anya and Jose Manuel Jurado were placed in favour of Almen Abdi and Juan Carlos Paredes. The Hornets hope to keep up their winning streak as they prepare to take the long trip north to Sunderland in a week’s time. Picture from Watford FC official website.
