The cast of the popular TV comedy The Inbetweeners reunited for A New Year’s Eve special bringing back memories of their shows being filmed locally.

The four actors who played the lead roles of awkward teenagers finding their roles in the World was a huge hit over three series from 2008 -2010.

The special show was hosted by comedian Jimmy Carr and featured the cast talking about the show as well as highlights of it being aired.

These included clips filmed at Ruislip High School which was the base for the show’s outdoor school scenes and renamed by the writers as Rudge Park Comprehensive.

Joint writer Damon Beesley explained why that location was chosen. He said: “We were looking for a new looking school and Ruislip High’s main buildings had only just opened the year before we started filming the first series.”

The show also featured a conversation between two of the main characters which led one of them to say, ‘he’s from Northwood, he’s from a hard family.’ Other scenes were shot in Northwood Hills and nearby Watford.

Local fan Dave Alexander said: “I enjoyed the show when it was on originally and seeing my old school (Ruislip High School) featured always made me laugh that little bit more as I’d had my own experiences there. The New Year’s show was rubbish to be honest.”

Fellow fan Cassie Burgess added: “The actual TV series was brilliant. But this New Year show was lame. I can remember when they were filming at the school because there were loads of trucks around and people swanning about trying to look important.”
