BREAKING NEWS: Man dies after road traffic collision on A41 near Berkhamsted

Police have confirmed a man has died following a road traffic collision in Berkhamsted this morning.

Police are appealing for witnesses, information and dashcam footage following a road traffic collision on the A41.

Police were called at around 5.50am today (Monday, March 17) to reports of a road traffic collision on the A41 southbound, prior to the junction for Chesham, involving a black Land Rover Velar and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Our thoughts are with his family and they are being supported by specially trained officers.”

A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion causing serious injury by careless driving and remains in custody.

Road closures currently remain in place on both sides of the carriageway.

Sergeant Luke Jenkins, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.
