THE BENCH: Short film shooting in Shenley Park gets positive reaction

A man directing a short film that has been shooting in Shenley Park has praised the hospitality of Radlett residents.

James Sharpe has spent the last few months making The Bench, a short film about a man who’s world is thrown upside one day, losing his home and family due to his brother’s drug and alcohol addictions.

Based on a film he made in 2010, James has been filming the new movie on a bench in Shenley Park, with many Radlett residents coming to observe the project.

James said: “Chris at the Tea Rooms supplied the cast with refreshments and dinners, and a place to go when it rained, which it did on a couple of occasions!

“The stills we have out now have had a couple of homeless charities contact us wanting to see the film, and lots of Shenley locals have been talking about it and offering help.”

James has already had filmed several shorts previously in the Shenley area, such as The Tree, Katie and The Letter, some of which have won awards.

The Bench starts James, Paul King, Steve Collins, Ag Longhurst, Marisa Foley, Sonna Vyas Dunne and several locals as extras in the film.
