The final whistle has blown for an Apsley football club, as organisers announce it has become “too much” to keep the team running.
Back in 2020, Apsley Argyle FC started their incredible journey from the West Herts League to working their way up to the HSCL Premier Division.
However, on Monday, June 16, Apsley Argyle FC announced with “a heavy heart” that the club will not be continuing into the next season.
A spokesperson for the club shared: “We’ve experienced all the highs and lows. It’s been an incredible five years – full of fun, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
“Unfortunately, the time, effort, and financial commitment required to run a local football club has become too much for the small group of dedicated individuals who’ve kept us going.
“Thank you to everyone who has been part of this football club – to the coaching teams, the players, our sponsors, Hemel FC, and especially Mick, Benji, and Smarty, who helped keep the club alive for as long as we did.
“And above all, thank you to every single person who has come to support us over the last five years.”
