Amersham residents have joined in with the Great British Spring Clean to help keep the area looking tidy during the warmer months.
Organised by Keep Britain Tidy and running from March 21 to April 6, the national initiative encourages residents, community groups and businesses to volunteer to collect and dispose of litter from local streets, parks and open spaces.
A total of 121 events took place across Buckinghamshire this year – an increase of 77 per cent from 2024.
This included a litter pick in Amersham on Saturday, March 29, where 85 residents came together and collected 70 bags of litter.
Amersham Town Council posted on Facebook: “A huge thank you to everyone that participated in the Great Amersham (British) Spring Clean this morning.
“A special thanks to the volunteers from Sewa UK who joined our litter pick in Amersham-on-the-Hill and to the waste team at Buckinghamshire Council for providing the bags and equipment.
“A great community effort and on behalf of Amersham Town Council, thank you.”
