Pinner residents will be thrilled to hear that the annual Hatch End Harrow Triathlon is set to return next month.
The annual event, which is based at Hatch End pool, was originally launched in 2000 by the Hatch End Association to celebrate the millennium.
Now run by Jetstream Tri Club, the 24th event will take place on Sunday, May 12.
The adult race consists of a 400-metre swim in Hatch End pool followed by a 17km bike ride and a 3km run. There are also five junior races over shorter distances for those aged eight to 16.
The triathlon will raise funds for St Luke’s Hospice and is supported by the Hatch End Association, Everyone Active, Active Training World, Pinner Camera Club and Gully Indian Street Food.
Speaking to Pinnernews, Paras, who took part last year and will be taking on the race again next month, said: “I was equally excited and nervous as I’d never done a triathlon before and just wanted to be able to finish it! This year, I know I can do it, and I’m looking forward to it.”
