Effective partnership working between the emergency services brought a concern for welfare incident to a safe conclusion in Watford on September 12.
Officers were called at around 5.45pm to Thomas Sawyer Way to reports a man had climbed a crane at a construction site.
Police negotiators and specially trained Fire and Rescue and Ambulance staff were among those involved in the response. Roads in the area were closed whilst the incident was dealt with.
The man was initially taken to hospital and has since been arrested.
Chief Inspector Roy Stammers said: “This was a great example of partnership working and a collaborated response to ensure the safety of the man involved, the wider public and emergency service colleagues. I would particularly like to thank colleagues from the Fire and Rescue Service and Ambulance Service for their assistance in resolving this challenging and dangerous incident”
The incident concluded at around 9.20pm.
