A village gymnast is set to represent Team GB on the biggest stage after being selected to feature at the World Cup Gymnastics in Melbourne next month.

Ondine Achampong has become a regular in the Team GB set up after proving she is one of the best young gymnasts in the country and in Europe.

The impressive youngster took the gymnastics’ world by storm last year when she was crowned the 2019 English Champion and the 2019 British Champion within two weeks of each other.

Most recently, Ondine picked up three medals at the European Youth Olympics and was crowned the European Youth Olympic beam champion after a flawless routine in front of the Azerbaijan crowd.

The Sapphire Gymnast has been tipped to be one of Team GB’s future stars and has performed at the very top of the sport consecutively year on year.

Ondine was congratulated by Sapphire Gymnastics on social media who also wished her the best of luck.

World Cup Gymnastics Melbourne is taking place over three days in February (20 to 23) and will count towards 2020 Olympic qualification.

Qualifications will take place in the first two days and the finals will follow on February 22 and 23.

KingsNews wishes Ondine the best of luck.
