The Chorleywood Lawn Tennis Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Tarak as its new junior secretary.
Dan, 46, from Chorleywood started the new role three months ago and said his aim is to bring down the perception that tennis is an elitist sport.
He mentioned: “I am very excited about the new role and thankful to chairman Chris Van Dyke and the team for appointing me. Tennis is just not for the select few – anyone can play this game.
“We would reach out to local schools to make tennis accessible.Go in and offer free sessions (once COVID-19 restrictions allow it) encourage young players to come to the club and participate in some groups tennis activities – take some lessons too.
“We hope to be able to offer your children a safe place to play, stay healthy and above all have fun.”
Dan and his family have been members at the club for 18 months and have all enjoyed being part of it.
He added: “Not one of us had played the sport before and are all now at a level where we can strike the ball with confidence.
“I am looking forward to being part of the new era at the club and helping grow the future of the club.
“Being able to facilitate positive change is huge – sport is a great way to help the community.”
