SWIM STARS: Rickmansworth school takes home silverware in national swimming competition

On Saturday, June 17, the Royal Masonic School for Girls competed in the English Swimming Schools Association (ESSA) Primary Team Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

The swimmers came second overall in the country in the medium schools category with silver medals in both the freestyle and medley relay finals.

Director of Sport and coach Lucy Cooper said: “This is such an amazing achievement for the girls and for the school. It is testament to the hard work and dedication that has gone in from this very talented group of swimmers, we are all very proud. Congratulations to Isabelle, Lois, Isabella, Cyce, Cordelia and Gia on their achievement.”

Royal Masonic were part of a tremendous cohort of for local schools who managed to qualify for the national primary championships at the home of swimming, with Charlotte House and Sarratt Primary competing in the Small Schools category and York House and Royal Masonic School for Girls competing in the Medium Schools category, including two swimmers from Watford Swimming Club.
