The second edition of a music quiz organised by Chorleywood-based workplace learning disability charity Mission EmployAble managed to raise even more funds this time around.
The original event took place in the summer of last and was supposed to be a one-off, but with the event proving popular with attendees and managing to raise a fantastic £3,000, the charity decided to stage the quiz again.
Thus, on the evening of Friday, July 22, some 155 people came to a special marquee on a private home just outside Chorleywood to enjoy picnics on the lawn and were quizzed on their knowledge of all areas of music.
Erica Bendall, chair of Mission EmployAble’s fundraising committee said: “Everyone answered the quiz questions with raucous enthusiasm, if varying degrees of accuracy, raising a fantastic £4,700 from ticket sales, the bar and a raffle on the night.”
A further £1,000 was also from the sale of special ‘leaves’ that will be on a special tree-based art installation that will be in the entrance of the under-construction Chorleywood Cricket Club pavilion, where Mission EmployAble will run a café.
