A Watford based specialist treatment centre, The Bobath Centre, have set up an emergency appeal due to the effects that the pandemic has had on them.
The centre is dedicated to supporting children and families living with cerebral palsy and similar neurological conditions.
The impact of COVID-19 has meant the babies and children that have been newly diagnosed with cerebral palsy have missed vital early intervention therapy during lockdown, which will impact greatly on their motor-development, play, communication, feeding and sleep.
A spokesperson for The Bobath Centre said: “During the COVID-19 lockdown, our waiting lists have expanded, and we now have more than 30 children and 20 babies who are desperate for our help.
“As we are starting to open our doors again, we need your support to be able to provide services. £50 could buy toys which are suitable for children with additional needs.”
