Councillor Sarah Nelmes, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, is urging residents to shop locally for Christmas presents, to support businesses across Three Rivers.
In a video posted on the councils website, she says: “I am in Rickmansworth High Street where we are lucky enough to have a great range of independent stores and small businesses.
“All across Three Rivers we have got some amazing businesses, from family-owned restaurants and food producers, to hairdressers, florists and clothes shops. This year has been incredibly tough for them, with the pandemic threatening their livelihoods.
“By shopping locally, you will support the local economy, local jobs and families and getting us back up and running. Rest assured that our local businesses have strict rules in place to protect their staff and shoppers. So, please remember to wash your hands, wear a face covering and keep your distance at all times.”
