A company from Northwood Hills has been selected as one of the nation’s top 100 most inspiring small firms in the SmallBiz100 campaign.
The campaign from Small Business Saturday promotes 100 small businesses to raise awareness both locally and nationally.
Northwood business Brain Abilitiez works with individuals to enhance their mental capabilities using tailored brain training programmes.
Co-founder and chief operating officer Sonal Kapoor was inspired to start the company by her son Shammi, who struggles with autism and ADHD. Personalised brain training programmes helped a then 20-year-old Shammi move from underconfident reader to A-grade student.
Turning their focus to the wider community, Sonal and Shammi decided to open Brain Abilitiez in 2015.
Sonal said: “There can be nothing more inspiring than watching your own child be a miracle in action.
“Watching pain change into purpose and that purpose changing, enabling and empowering others is the greatest gift imaginable.”
