Two Radlett sisters recently helped their local football team win a major trophy, following outstanding performances in the final.
In the Herts Girls Football Partnership Under 18s League Shield final, Garston Ladies Under 18s Lions went up against the Hitchin Belles at the Metropolitan Sports Club in Bushey on May 13.
On the pitch were Radlett girls Jess and Gabs Spillman, who despite being sisters, have only played together as teammates for the first time this season.
It was a nail-biting game, but in the end it was Garston Ladies who took home the trophy, with victory assured following a narrow 6-5 win.
As well as claiming the Shield, Gabs was also won an individual prize.
She was the top scorer throughout all of the top three leagues in the Herts Girls Football Partnership and was awarded the Golden Boot after the match.
As one of the largest female-only grassroots football teams in Hertfordshire, Garston Ladies are always looking for more players. If you are interested, email info@garstonladiesfc.co.uk
