Hemel Hempstead’s largest youth football club has raised thousands for charity with the return of a summer tournament.
Hemel Hempstead Town Youth FC (HHTYFC) recently hosted their first tournament since 2018, with 200 teams taking part from 14 different counties.
5,000 people attended the tournament which was hosted at JFK School. With the help of various sponsors, the club raised £10,500.
A spokesperson for HHTYFC said: “The club is thankful to all the companies in the town for their help and of course our fantastic volunteers that gave up their time to make it a massive success.”
HHTYFC are always on the lookout for more recruits, with both boys and girls (ages six to 17) welcome to join.
A spokesperson said: “Following the fantastic success of England Lionesses winning the Euros in July, the club has been visiting local school fairs promoting girls football and the club now has more girls teams than ever before.”
