Chorleywood’s St Clement Danes school is pleased to report some outstanding achievements by its students in their A Levels and level 3 qualifications this summer.

Many of the Year 13 students received their first choice of place at University, with the majority of other students gaining entrance onto a chosen alternative, whether this be apprenticeships, employment or an alternative Higher Education pathway.

Year 13 student Louis has qualified to study Medicine at Sheffield University, Katie has been offered a place to study Law at Cambridge University and Ellie to study English at Oxford University.

Students have also secured places on higher or degree level apprenticeships schemes across a range of industries such as science research (AstraZeneca), Law (Mischon de Raya), Finance (RSM & Julian Mayer) and Construction (Mace & Mott MacDonald).

This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards.

The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges due to the varying impact of the pandemic.

Mr Sutherland, the headteacher said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a difficult and disrupted year. It was wonderful to see so many students, parents and staff celebrating the achievements and talking about next steps and destinations.

“Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are able to progress onto further education, apprenticeships, and employment and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”
