SPEED AHEAD: Croxley Park employees resemble F1 in a competitive lunchtime break

Published on: 2nd March 2020   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

It was a race against time at Croxley Park as teams of Park employees battled it out to change tyres on an F1 car in The Barn, part of the park’s new ‘Hive’ amenity hub.

Teams of six raced against the clock on February 13, competing for the quickest changeover times.

Prizes were on offer for the fastest teams, ensuring this was the most competitive lunchtime The Barn has seen this year.

Ian Kearns team from tenant company StarLeaf, took first place with a winning time of 3.40, and scooped first prize, a track day getting behind the wheel of a supercar.

McLeaf team from StarLeaf finished in second place, and third place went to the Red Roosters from Howdens who had change over times of 3.98 and 4.39 respectively.

Unfortunately, there were no podiums, and champagne spraying wasn’t permitted.

Employees also had the chance to test their skills on a driving simulator that imitated a racing track. Just over 200 people attended the lunchtime event.

Sam Rose of BDO commented: “I’m a bit of an F1 fan so have always wanted to have a crack at changing an F1 car tyre. It isn’t something I ever thought I’d experience. It’s great Croxley Park regularly puts these kinds of events on. They’re a lot of fun, and you get to know colleagues and other people who work at the Park in a social atmosphere.”
