Changes to parking charges on Kings Langley High Street officially came into force on Monday, March 31.
The charges are payable from 8am to 6pm seven days a week, but parking is free overnight.
The bays between Langley Hill and Vicarage Lane cost 80p for 30 minutes and £1.50 for an hour, with no return within two hours.
Payments need to be made by card either at a machine or via an app.
South of Langley Hill and north of Vicarage Lane, the bays are free for 30 minutes, with no return within two hours.
The car parks in The Nap and Langley Hill are free for four hours between 8am and 6pm, with no return within two hours. There is no time limit in the car parks outside of these times.
Previously, in a letter to Gagan Mohindra, MP for South West Hertfordshire, and Dacorum Borough Council, residents and business owners of the village shared their “strong opposition” to the proposed parking changes on the High Street.
Speaking to KINGSnews, borough and parish councillor Alan Johnson said: “The only ones who seem to think this is a good idea are the company that are going to be enforcing the restrictions.”
