A mum of two young children has appealed to Radlett residents to support a “lovely” Toddler Tuesday event which is in need of more volunteers and members.
Ashley Norman, mum of a three-year-old son and five-month-old daughter, said the events at St John’s Church on Gills Hill Lane have been pivotal to her son’s development.
She told RADLETTnews: “It’s such a lovely group. As a parent, you don’t tend to meet that many people unless you’re out at the park or happen to live near someone.
“My son loves it; he asked if we could go over Christmas. He met his best friend there and they have play dates all the time.”
While the main leader of the group has been away due to pregnancy, the other mums have stepped up to ensure it runs smoothly.
Despite its success with current mums and children, several of the youngsters are growing up and moving on to local nurseries, leaving spaces for more to join.
Ashley wants to ensure that the sessions can continue to run for the benefit of the community and for her young daughter, who will soon join.
She said: “We’d love to have more children involved. We may get to the point where we have too few volunteers and members and we can’t run anymore.
“It’s so dependent on people helping. I want my daughter to make friends like my son has.”
Toddler Tuesdays runs every week from 9am to 11am excluding holidays. It costs £2 a session and proceeds are sent to the church. To contact Ashley about supporting the event or bringing your child along, email heyashleynorman@gmail.com
