Roads and Croxley tube station were closed briefly today as the emergency services attended to a man having a medical episode.

Police cordoned off the area as multiple emergency services vehicles aided the stricken gentleman, with an off-duty firefighter providing firs aid until paramedics arrived on the scene. The person involved has now been taken to Watford General Hospital for further treatment.

Various roads, including the A412, were shut in the area, leading to diversions and queues of traffic. The road reopened at 3:15pm, having been shut for around an hour.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “An ambulance, two ambulance officer vehicles and a rapid response vehicle were called to Watford Road, Croxley Green this afternoon following reports of a man with a medical emergency.

“An off-duty firefighter at the scene provided first aid until our crews arrived, and the patient was transported to Watford General Hospital for further assessment and care.
