A Stanmore theatre student won her way to the semi-finals after weeks of impressing the judges on The Voice UK.

Nicole Dennis, 24, from Stanmore, won the hearts of the nation after she appeared singing Never Enough in the blind auditions for The Voice UK.

Her rendition of The Greatest Showman hit saw three out of the four judges turn, landing her a place straight into the next round, and secured her a place with Jennifer Hudson as her mentor.

Nicole was set as the favourite to win following her first audition and her performance with team captain Jennifer Hudson with their cover of And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going.

The song was sung by her mentor in the 2006 film Dreamgirls and happens to be the character Nicole Dennis understudies for in the West End. This had the entire audience up on their feet.

The theatre student has previously played a role in The Lion King at Disneyland Paris, The Book of Mormon in London’s West End and she understudied the role of Effie White in Dreamgirls, London.

She is currently appearing in Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre in London, for tickets visit waitressthemusical.co.uk/
