Independent Early Years Practitioner, Jo Roberts, has been busy entertaining families during lockdown with her Fab Friday’s live sessions on Facebook.
Jo who set up The Baby & Co, a business in Chorleywood which supports families antenatally and with children under the age of 5, has been singing and performing for almost 13 weeks now.
She receives many messages from families sending her song requests, asking simple shoutouts or to celebrate birthdays.
Speaking about these sessions, Jo mentioned: “The feedback I get is just lovely, I’ve got a pair with two little girls and they say nothing will entertain them or keep them occupied but as soon as I come on they are there for half an hour, absolutely glued and they don’t want to do anything else.
“I have other people sending me photos and they put my live stream up on the television, it’s great that they’re enjoying it.”
Before the lockdown, Jo used to run her sessions from the local library, including baby massage courses, introduction to solids talks and the singing sessions.
She has managed to transfer some of her work online via Zoom, but the most popular so far are the Friday lives on Facebook.
She continued: “I don’t charge for it and each week numbers of families watching live have risen to 45 with a further 200 catch-up watching later.
“It’s been so lovely and hopefully I’ve been able to reach out to families at a time they’ve needed it most.”
