Four women are set to complete a sponsored sleepout in St Albans next month to help fund a local home for those recovering from addiction.
Sharon Linney, Mandy McNeil, Lynn Dutton and Karen Cowen will all be sleeping outside the Marks & Spencer on Waddington Road on the night of Friday, September 15, staying there from 7pm until 5am the next morning.
This is in aid of the charity Lynn and Sharon work for, St Albans Action for Homeless. They will put the funds raised towards buying Hope House after its landlords put the building up for sale.
The house provides four bedrooms for males who need help to stay free of addiction, while also giving them access to the services they need to get help.
Sharon, Mandy, Lynn and Karen are hoping to raise £1,000 to help the charity in their purchasing bid, with support to be provided on the night by Herts Police and the Marks & Spencer branch, who have offered to provide the sleepers with food and drink.
