SPEEDING SCARE: Car flips over in Northwood amidst ongoing issues with speeding

Published on: 23rd September 2024   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

A major collision has once again taken place on a residential road in Northwood, with people continuing to blame motorists’ disregard of the speed limit.

Dene Road resident Roger Kojecky spoke to Northwood & Ruislip News about an incident in which his own car was damaged beyond repair after another vehicle crashed into it.

Roger said: “My car, the white Audi, was parked in a residents’ bay outside my house while I was visiting another part of Northwood.

“I came back 20 minutes later to find the police, an ambulance car and volunteers on the scene. Eight men were not able to right the other car.”

Roger stated that this has come as a result of people driving through the area above the speed limit.

This follows several other incidents which have been highlighted to Northwood & Ruislip News over the past two months, with more Dene Road residents, as well as those living on The Fairway and Hallowell Road, also expressing concern about speeding in the neighbourhood.

A spokesperson for Hillingdon Council said: “We understand residents’ frustrations regarding inconsiderate and irresponsible parking.

“We provide residents and visitors with a range of convenient and affordable parking options and conduct regular enforcement patrols to mitigate illegal parking. From July to September this year there were more than 850 enforcement visits made to Joel Street, with PCNs issued for parking contraventions.

“If you have any specific concerns or need to report illegal parking, you can call the enforcement hotline at 01895 271418.”

The Met Police have also been contacted for comment.
