Croxley was awash with colour, culture, and community spirit on Saturday evening (Saturday, October 11) as residents gathered at Yorke Mead School for a vibrant Diwali celebration hosted by Croxley Green Parish Council.
The event, marking the Festival of Light, attracted hundreds of attendees who enjoyed a rich programme of music, dance, crafts, and traditional food. From Bollywood and classical Indian dance performances to henna art, diya-making, and sweet treats, the evening celebrated the joy and unity of Diwali.
Cultural highlights included performances by local artists, dance academies, and the high-energy Dhol 2 Dhol drummers.
The festivities concluded with a lantern-lit procession to the library forecourt, led by the Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Robert Voss CBE. He also officiated the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, a glowing symbol of hope and togetherness.
With free entry and activities for all ages, the event offered a memorable celebration of community and culture, leaving Croxley glowing in the spirit of Diwali.
