SOLVING PROBLEMS: CCTV cameras could be installed at Little Chalfont Nature Park amid drug taking concerns

CCTV cameras could be installed to tackle drug use concerns and vandalism at the Little Chalfont Nature Park.

Little Chalfont Parish Council has applied for funding to have cameras installed at the park.

This was done after finding out that a small minority of youngsters vandalised park furniture and bird boxes.

It was discovered that some young people also use the park for “drug taking”.

Brian Drew, chairman of Little Chalfont Parish Council said: “We have sadly experienced the occasional incidence of anti-social behaviour, vandalism and recreational drug use, which spoils the tranquility of the park for other users.

“In an effort to discourage this behaviour, we are planning to install live CCTV within the park.”

CCTV cameras will help to identify the perpetrators and will help minimise both the issues.

The Nature Park is an important part of the village, therefore the parish council believes it is important to eliminate anti-social behaviour of any kind.
