The Mayor of Hillingdon recently unveiled a new playground at a Ruislip infant school.
The playground at Whiteheath Infant School was officially opened on February 28 after the Whiteheath Infant School Association (WISA) raised £17,000 to provide a playground that would “maximise the learning experience”.
In total, the playground cost £43,000, with the remaining funds distributed from the school budget raised over two years.
After a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Mayor of Hillingdon councillor Becky Haggar, children were able to try out the new playground.
One pupil said: “The playground is amazing. I am so happy.”
Mrs Hall, headteacher at Whiteheath, said: “Since starting at the school in April 2021, I have had a project in mind to develop the playground area.
“I knew this was going to be a huge expense, therefore set out to work with WISA and governors to ensure we could upgrade our playground.”
