A man recently took on a skydive to raise money for a Watford charity.
Watford Workshop was founded back in 1964 and helps to provide employment, work experience, independent life skills and vocational training for adults living with disabilities.
Josh White worked at Watford Workshop for 18 months as an assistant production manager, where he managed the work for service users, dealt with customers, and kept the workshop organised.
Josh told Watfordnews: “I loved the Watford Workshop; it was an incredible place to work!”
To thank the team for all they have done for him, Josh decided he would take on an extreme challenge to raise money for Watford Workshop. On Saturday, September 21, Josh skydived from 15,000 feet in the air.
When asked if he was frightened, calm and collected Josh said: “I wasn’t scared at all and the view was beautiful, so I was eager to get going. The freefall was the best part, especially seeing the surroundings as you slowed down.
“I wanted to go back and do it again to be honest! I was happy to be raising money for the workshop. I’ve been shown so much warmth and kindness from the team, which is something I will carry with me wherever I go.”
Josh’s feat has raised around £1,000 for the charity.
A spokesperson for Watford Workshop said: “A big shout-out to our former assistant production manager, Josh, who took to the skies for Watford Workshop!
“Josh completed a breath-taking skydive with GoSkydive in Salisbury, raising funds to support our mission of empowering adults with disabilities through meaningful employment and skills training.”
