Chorleywood Choral Society is welcoming the start of the festive season with a concert of contemporary music and traditional carols.
All are welcome to attend the concert at St Mary’s Church in Rickmansworth at 6pm on Saturday, December 6. Doors open at 5.15pm and mince pies and mulled wine will be available.
The evening will feature Cecilia McDowall’s Christmas cantata A Winter’s Night, which combines several popular carols with rhythmic variation and linking passages that conjure up a joyful atmosphere; plus an exciting programme of choral carol arrangements and audience participation.
Speaking to Chorleywood News, acting chair Nick Cousins said: “What better way to start your Christmas preparations than to sing, play or listen to music written to be appropriate to the season in the beautifully evocative St Mary’s Church?
“Put your troubles aside for a couple of hours and join us in a relaxed atmosphere of friendship and great music, some communal carol singing and superb cakes (plus mulled wine of course)!”
