A local singing coach has created a new choir for adults in Northwood.
Professional vocal coach Alex Davies joined another choir before lockdown and enjoyed it so much that she launched her own Singspace choir in her local area of Northwood.
She is now set to launch the new Singspace Musical Theatre Choir, a group for people with a love for musical theatre, at St John’s United Reformed Church at 7.45pm on Saturday, September 21.
Alex said: “The singers will learn to get the most from their voice. We will cover breathing, resonance, posture and range and we are looking for people who are really enthusiastic about musicals, no matter their ability or experience.
“Singing is incredible for mental health; we all benefit from singing and from the social aspect of singing together.
“People have told me singing is the best part of their week, and that it relieves stress. I know what joy singing can bring and I want to enable as many people as possible to experience that joy.”
