Police are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of a dog being dangerously out of control in Hemel Hempstead.
At around 7am on Thursday, July 11, a woman was walking along Perry Green when she approached another woman and her dog.
They had a brief conversation before the dog, described as a bulldog, jumped up at the victim.
The victim, who is aged in her thirties, sustained puncture wounds to the stomach.
The owner of the dog is described as a slim, white female, approximately 5ft 3in tall and had short grey hair and glasses. The owner was wearing a black short-sleeved gilet, a grey long-sleeved t-shirt, black leggings and brown boots with sheep fleece.
PC Jessica Gonzalez-Green, who is investigating, said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.
“The incident has understandably left the victim shaken and with a significant injury. I am appealing for the dog owner to please come forward as while she did subsequently attend the victim’s address to check on her welfare, no details were obtained.
“I am also asking for any witnesses who saw what happened to please email me at Jessica.Gonzalez-Green@herts.police.uk. Thank you.”
