Northwood residents are being invited to take part in a popular annual gardening event which is going ahead virtually for the second year.
Hillingdon in Bloom hosted by Hillingdon Council launched towards the end of last month coinciding with National Gardening Week.
The competition will help residents get outdoors whilst sprucing up their gardens and local neighbourhoods.
This year’s categories include best hanging basket, best window box, best balcony and best first-time entrant, and the council is bringing back the ‘park and bloom’ category, which was introduced last year.
Councillor Eddie Lavery, cabinet member for environment, housing and regeneration, said that last year’s virtual event was extremely popular receiving nearly 150 entries.
He said: “From large gardens to the smallest of window boxes, everyone can take part. So, whether you’ve never planted anything before or you’re a seasoned gardener, there’s something for everyone.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing all the colourful entries this year.”
