Two properties in Radlett have been ordered to close after reports of an incident involving weapons.
Police were called to an alleyway between Orchard Close and Fairfield Close at around 1pm on June 28, following reports of the conflict. Nobody was injured and three people were later arrested. Two individuals have been charged since.
On July 1, the Hertsmere Neighbourhood Policing Team attended St Albans Magistrates’ Court and successfully obtained two partial closure orders for properties on Orchard Close and Fairfield Close. This means nobody can enter both properties for three months – except the named tenant and emergency services – under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
Stanmore resident Samuel Patterson, 28, was charged with possession of an offensive weapon and bailed until July 30 with conditions including not to enter Radlett. Jordan Short, also 28, and a resident of Hatfield, was charged with the same offence and given the same conditions. A further man in his 20s from Radlett was arrested on suspicion of affray but was released with no further action.
The news comes during Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week 2026 – a national campaign highlighting the impact that ASB has and educating the public on how to report it.
Hertsmere Neighbourhood Policing Team leader, Rachael Robertson, said: “Officers acted swiftly to identify and arrest those suspected to be involved, while also taking longer-term measures to protect those affected.
“The partial closure orders will help safeguard vulnerable occupants, prevent those linked to this offending from returning to the addresses, and provide reassurance to residents.”
