Families can get up close to fire engines, meet firefighters and explore the building’s facilities this August as Stanmore Fire Station opens its doors to the community.
The open day, free of charge, is set for Sunday, August 16, from 11am to 4pm at Stanmore Fire Station on Honeypot Lane.
Live demonstrations and lessons on fire safety will be taught on the premises, as visitors can ask firefighters about how the London Fire Brigade responds to emergencies.
There will also be opportunities to examine the station’s fire engines up close, alongside the rescue equipment and tools used.
Family-friendly activities are also on the agenda to keep children entertained, as food stalls will also be on site.
This upcoming event encourages residents to see the behind-the-scenes work that takes place at Stanmore Fire Station and meet the people who make it happen.
The open day is located at 650 Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, HA7 1JS, and entry is free.
