Yarnbomb Hemel Hempstead have been busy working on a display banner and post box toppers as a thank you to the NHS, volunteers and all key workers.
Clothes wholesaler Gabicci, based in Hemel, donated some knitted sample squares to the group which have been decorated by many members to celebrate the hard work all key workers are doing.
Christine Allsop, founder of Yarnbomb Hemel said: “This is a thank you to shops, schools, NHS workers, volunteers, lorry drivers, farmers and emergency personnel to name a few. Many of the large supermarkets have given us old uniforms so we can use the logo on some of the squares.
“When you drive along the Leighton Buzzard Rd you will get a great view of it. Needlecraft have been fantastic through the lockdowns keeping our ladies supplied with items.
“As well as this some of the ladies have created postbox toppers, as they have been so popular.
“The response we have had from people has been so lovely. It brightens their day which is what it is all about.”
With this display people can choose their own charity to support.
