David Taylor, MP for Hemel Hempstead, said that he and the Labour government are listening to the public following the announcement of a whopping £9,348,000 road repair fund.
On Monday, January 20, Mr Taylor MP posted on social media saying that it was “impossible not to notice the shocking state of roads when driving around Hemel and the nearby villages”.
The government has given a £9,348,000 loan to Hertfordshire, on top of a £26,322,000 baseline fund from the government.
The MP said: “Together with the other Labour MPs in Hertfordshire, we have written to the Leader of Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) and the cabinet member responsible for highways, urging them to utilise the significant 36 per cent increase in funding.
“I am encouraging residents to inform me if any potholes are causing you problems, so I can ensure that HCC is held accountable.”
