Two Croxley businesses teamed up to refurbish a pontoon belonging to a local boating club and charity.
The Colne Valley Special Sailors (CVSS) are a dedicated group of volunteers who provide sailing and katakanuing (a type of canoeing) sessions to disabled children of all ages, operating from Bury Lake in Rickmansworth Aquadrome.
Now, they have an extra pontoon to teach sailing, thanks to the hard work of both Home Counties Loft Ladders and Selco Builders Warehouse.
With their extra equipment ready to use, CVSS have also announced that they are looking for new volunteers to join their team.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “As a volunteer and after initial training, you will welcome sailors, make sure they are correctly prepared for their activities, assist them in and out of boats, act as a ‘buddy’ sailor, helm and crew safety boats, prepare the site, and maintain our boats and equipment.
“Training is provided, and we try to match the interests of individual volunteers and the needs of the organisation.”
