A vet from Rickmansworth has been jailed after admitting sexual assault.

Jamie Rushton, 45, was sentenced to 18 months in jail at Wood Green Crown Court on Tuesday, May 30.

He photographed the sexual assault which happened at The Runnymede on Thames Hotel and Spa in Egham, Surrey, on June 25, 2017.

Two years later, Rushton’s wife found the images on his computer and reported him to police.

A police investigation was launched and they contacted the victim, who confirmed it was her in the images, but she could not recall the encounter with Rushton that night.

Rushton, who has worked at the Village Vet practice in Hampstead since 2007, claimed the victim had flirted with him on the night of the sexual assault.

He denied the offences and claimed that the sexual activity had been consensual, before later changing his plea to guilty.

Rushton was also ordered to pay £3,000 in court costs, and was made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years and placed on the sex offenders’ register 10 ten years.
