A new karting track in Bushey finally opened its doors after being delayed months by the pandemic – to then only have to close less than two week later.
TeamSport Indoor Karting spent £1.1m on its track at Greatham Road ahead of opening on October 21 to then only have to close again on November 5 as the country went into lockdown.
The new facility, which boasts a 500 metre multi-level karting track with plenty of hairpin turns and challenging ramps, was originally meant to open in April before the pandemic hit.
As well as the karting track the venue has a new crazy golf course – a nine-hole motorsport themed course called Putt Club which is only the second of its kind in the UK.
It also has a trackside bar and casual dining area.
Dominic Gaynor, chief executive of TeamSport Karting and Putt Club Crazy Golf, said: “We are delighted to bring the thrill of indoor karting and a new era of crazy golf to Bushey.
“{When not in lockdown} we are fortunate that in the current climate our on-track karting experience has remained almost completely unchanged and is as fun and thrilling as ever.
“Off-track we have invested heavily in state-of-the-art sanitisation and deodorisation units and a range of robust COVID secure measures and processes.
“We’re so excited to open both the track and the Putt Club experience in Bushey and can’t wait to see everyone enjoying the new experience this new venue has to offer the community.”
Booking is available for dates from December 3 onwards. For more information visit team-sport.co.uk
