Detectives from the St Albans Local Crime unit are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information following a GBH which has resulted in a man sustaining a serious head injury.
It happened on St Peter’s Street between 2.20am and 2.45am yesterday (Sunday, May 18) near The Entertainer and Subway.
It appears that a man in a group punched the victim, aged in his 20s, and he fell to the floor. He became unconscious and was treated by paramedics.
Detective Constable Emily Foley said: “The victim was taken to hospital and is being treated for serious injuries.
“Enquiries are continuing today to trace the group of people who were involved in the incident. We are also keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have seen the assault or taken a photo of the people involved.
“Perhaps you saw the victim or the group before the assault – any information you can provide may be useful to our investigation, so please do get in touch with us.”
