A fundraiser set up to help a beloved delivery driver from Bovingdon has raised over £1,000 so far.
Delivery driver Sue is well-known within the community for delivering parcels with a smile and the fundraiser aims to help fix her car after repair costs skyrocketed.
Lauren Wagner, who set up the GoFundMe page, said that Sue is always going above and beyond for the community, from delivering parcels late at night on Christmas Eve to braving the snow to make sure residents got their parcels on time.
She said: “Sue’s beloved car has broken down, and the cost of repairs is mind blowing! This car is her livelihood and I would love to help her get it back on the road.
“She’s always cheerful and she never has anything negative to say. Whenever she drops off a parcel she’s always asked how my daughter is and how I am, she’s just so lovely.”
Lauren added that Sue was overwhelmed and extremely grateful when she saw how much had been raised so far.
She said: “She was completely overwhelmed, she started crying and said she couldn’t believe it.
“I can’t believe you would do this and people would donate she said.
“She thinks it’s absolutely amazing and is very happy it’s been done.”
