A tee-rific £30,000 was raised in aid of Michael Sobell Hospice (MSH) at this year’s annual golf day at Sandy Lodge Golf Club, which took place on Thursday May 10 in glorious sunshine!

The event saw 25 teams of specially invited golfers, take part in the Open qualifying course, followed by dinner, a raffle and an auction in the evening.

The winning team on the day was ‘4 Young Guns’, who were presented with their trophy by Michael Sobell Hospice Charity (MSHC) and golf club representatives.

MSHC CEO, Judi Byrne, gave a speech on the night thanking golf club members for their continued and invaluable support of MSH, which began in 2002 when the first golf day took place.

Businesses from across the local area lent their support to the event by sponsoring a hole, including Corona Corporate Solutions, Aqua Wealth Management, Smith-Milne & Co, Sherwood Compliance Services, Finsbury Trust, Teaco Associates, Lamertons, Asnu, Robsons Estate Agents and Nunn Hayward.

“On behalf of everyone involved with the golf day; from organisation to participation, thank you all so much. Another fantastic year, and an incredible amount of money raised for our Hospice,” commented MSH spokesperson and keen golfer, Glyn Halliday.

He added: “A big thank you to Mark Golinsky, Jeff Pinsent and the Sandy Lodge team, and to all the businesses who kindly donated raffle or auction prizes for the event. Without your generous support and behind-the-scenes dedication, we simply would not be able to put an event like this together.”
