A supermarket in Stanmore was forced to close on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 24, after an incident of suspected shoplifting.
Staff at Sainsbury’s in The Broadway detained three individuals and the police were called at approximately 2.22pm.
The suspects were then taken to a North London police station.
Damian Nugara, 53, of Priory Road, Haringey, was subsequently charged with theft from a shop the following day.
Nugara is expected to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 9, as STANMOREnews went to print.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “A 35-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were subsequently released under investigation pending further enquiries.”
